You said there's a trail going up on the backside of Beehive Mtn. which can be safe for kids. Can you please give me directions to the trailhead?

Thanks.

When my daughters and I go to Bar Harbour, the thing we look forward to most is eating at 2Cats. Food is great, coffee wonderful! The place is painted in a fun and funky way, we love it (just look at the sign out front.) Highly recommended if you want a memorable experience and good food and coffee!

Dude! We did it backwards. We went 7/8 of the way up. My 12 year old daughter started to freak. My 8 year old son was digging it big time. I have to say I questioned going back down. I'd done many technical climbs in my past and was unsure of the safety factor. But there was no way in hell my daughter was going to go one step further. To my surprise it wasn't that bad. The big concern was meeting hikers coming up.
All in all though Beehive is great but The Bowl is a must stop. Great blueberries (late July early August). And a good spot to swim (check for leaches)
We always spend an afternoon. A word of wisdom is to start at the Bowl and go around to Beehive. The Bowl can then be picked up again. Check your maps. We've done this hike since our kids we're 4 months.
Love Acadia!...don't forget the Precipice or the Giant Slide. For the kids Hunter's Beach.

[...] On our trip to Acadia last year, we had breakfast at a really cute place called “Two Cats“. It was a great place, great food and great ambience. You could sit amidst blooming lilacs and down their amazing stuff ( the best pancakes) with some fresh squeezed orange juice. Read another review here. [...]

Do you ever send popovers out of state? I have a friend who summers on MDI and I would love to surprise her with popovers (she is currently going through a difficult medical procedure).

I would appreciate a response even if it's a "no."

Thank you,
Annie

I am sorry to inform you that there is now a Starbucks in Wickenburg, though it is located in the Safeway rather than as a stand-alone store. While this may seem like the beginning of the end, there is hope. When I first ordered a strong cup of coffee there the person behind the counter said "Watch out, thats a WHOO DOGGIE cup of coffee." So if even Starbucks can be overcome by our great little town I think that we can handle anything. Along the same lines, when McDonalds first came to town, decades ago, the mayor came in the first day and cut the ties off of each manager, stating "There are no ties in Wickenburg." We will stand up to all invaders. :)
